MARY CAHILL SCHOLARSHIP

On June 19th, 2007, Nesconset Elementary PTA established the Mary Cahill Scholarship.  Mrs. Cahill was principal of Nesconset for seventeen years and this scholarship was established in honor of her dedication and service to the children, parents, and community of Nesconset Elementary School.  Each year the Nesconset PTA will award the Mary Cahill Scholarship to a qualified graduating senior who attended Nesconset Elementary and plans a course of study in education.

Applicant requirements:
•Graduate of Nesconset Elementary school
•Pursuing a course of study in the field of education
•Applicant must submit an essay explaining why they have chosen to pursue a career in education, and how they feel they will be able to impact the lives of children.
•Additionally the applicant must list any community service/involvement they have participated in during high school.

Other:
•Application due date is April 1, 2012.
•Applications should be submitted to the Counseling Center.
•Scholarship recipient will be announced at the Senior Awards ceremony, and will be invited to attend our June 7th PTA meeting to accept his/her check.
